Gulf University takes pride in recognizing the outstanding achievements of its alumni and students through prestigious awards that celebrate excellence, leadership, and innovation. These awards honor individuals who have made lasting impact in their professions, industries, and communities, reinforcing the university’s commitment to lifelong learning, success, and social responsibility.

Life Achievement & Inspiration Award

Honors individuals who have made significant life achievements and inspire others through their perseverance and success.
Professional Excellence Award

Recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional performance and leadership in their professional careers, consistently exceeding expectations.
Entrepreneurial Career Leadership & Impact Award

Celebrates entrepreneurs who have successfully launched ventures and made a significant impact on their careers and industry.
Community Leadership & Volunteerism Award

Acknowledges those who have shown outstanding leadership and dedication to volunteering in their communities, colleges, and local services.
Continuous Learning & Achievement Award

Recognizes individuals who have pursued ongoing education and achieved excellence in their learning journey, serving as an inspiration to others.
Professional Talent Recognition Award

Celebrates individuals with exceptional talents in sports, music, art, or other creative fields, who have earned recognition and awards for their skills and contributions.
Eligibility criteria for the Alumni Awards
- All nominations must be made using the online Gulf Alumni of the Year Award online nomination form by 11.59pm on Thursday, 24 2025 April (Bahrain time).
- The nominee must have graduated from Gulf University of Bahrain.
- Nominations can be made by Gulf alumni, students and staff, as well as family members, colleagues or other members of the public. Self-nominations are also welcomed.
- Nominations must detail how the nominee has demonstrated success and achievements in their professional career, significant involvement and contributions to their community, or an ongoing commitment and contribution to Gulf University of Bahrain through volunteering and advocacy.
- If you’d like to nominate more than one person, nominations for different alumni across the award categories are welcome.
- Each individual nomination must be submitted for one award category only.
- If required, the Alumni Relations Office reserves the right to move any individual nomination between the award categories.
- If required, the Alumni Relations Office reserves the right to make a final decision on any individual’s eligibility for the awards.
- Winners will be encouraged to undertake at least one activity for Gulf in the year of their award to benefit the Gulf community, such as providing an alumni profile or feature story, delivering a lecture or careers session, or the provision of advice and support to student groups, etc.
Alumni ineligible for the Alumni Awards
- Gulf Honorary Graduates / Fellows of the University (unless the nominee also graduated from the University).
- Current members of the University’s Board of Governors or its committees Gulf University – Accredited by Higher Education Council
- Serving Politician or Heads of State.
Short-listing and the Alumni Vote
- Short-listing of all eligible applications will be undertaken by staff members of Gulf University of Bahrain after the closing date for nominations and in line with the eligibility criteria to select the finalists for each category.
- Details of all finalists will be available here on the website and the vote will be launched via email and our social media channels including LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.
- Votes for finalists may only be cast by members of the Gulf alumni community, students and staff. There will be a weighted voting system whereby votes cast by alumni will be worth 50%, staff 25% and students 25%.
- All alumni, staff and students will be allowed to cast one vote for one finalist in each category via our online voting form when made available – we’re afraid that multiple votes (either for one specific finalist or multiple finalists) will not be counted.
- The winner of each category is decided by the highest number of verified votes received from our alumni community.
Announcing the winners
- Winners will be announced at our on-campus Alumni Awards celebration on the 18th of June2025. All finalists will be invited to attend – alumni, supporters, and nominators will be welcome to join our live streaming online.
- There will be an additional award decided by the Gulf University of Bahrain Alumni Advisory Board. The board will pick a winner for the Alumni Advisory Board Award from a list of runner ups.
- The winner’s announcement will be shared publicly via our channels and celebrated on our website, social media channels and applications.
