Gulf University welcomed a group of students from the Russian Federation, accompanied by H.E. Alexey Skosyrev, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Bahrain, during an academic visit aimed at exploring the university’s educational environment and identifying opportunities for academic and cultural collaboration between the two sides.
At the start of the visit, the delegation was briefed on Gulf University’s diverse academic programs and its pioneering initiatives in the fields of innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. They also learned about the university’s active role in building international partnerships that enhance educational quality and promote cultural and knowledge exchange.
The delegation then embarked on a comprehensive campus tour, which included the university’s state-of-the-art classrooms, advanced scientific laboratories, a well-equipped library rich with academic resources, and the Language Center.
During the visit, the students participated in a live interactive session held at the university’s television production studio, where they engaged in discussions on educational and cultural experiences and explored ways to strengthen student cooperation between Russian universities and Gulf University.
H.E. Ambassador Alexey Skosyrev expressed his appreciation for the university’s academic advancement, stating:
“The modern educational environment offered by Gulf University meets international standards and plays a significant role in building strong bridges of cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation.”
For his part, Prof. Mohannad Al Firas, President of Gulf University, affirmed:
“The university believes in the importance of embracing international educational experiences and building strategic partnerships that enhance academic and research development while providing our students with global opportunities for growth and cultural exchange.”
Prof. Al Firas also noted that Gulf University offers Russian language courses in collaboration with Chechen State Pedagogical University in Russia — an initiative that aims to strengthen cultural communication between the Bahraini and Russian peoples and to foster academic understanding between both sides.
The visit concluded with a mutual affirmation of the importance of continuing academic cooperation between Gulf University and educational institutions in the Russian Federation, in support of expanding international partnerships and advancing higher education in both countries.
