Multidisciplinary Legal Negotiation

The first day of the “Multidisciplinary Legal Negotiation Skills” workshop, organized by the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli (Italy) and Gulf University (Bahrain), officially began in Naples with the participation of 24 students from various disciplines. The workshop kicked off with an introductory session led by Professor Frank Alberto, the Dean of the University, who emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration to develop both the professional and personal skills of the participants. 

Opening Session (9:00 – 10:00): Professor Andrea Boroni delivered a session titled “Multidisciplinary Legal Negotiations,” discussing the significance of these negotiations and their impact on fields such as law, engineering, human resources, and accounting. The session saw active engagement from the participants, who asked questions about the applications of professional collaboration in real-world scenarios. 

First Workshop Session (10:15 – 12:00): Under the supervision of Professors Andrea and Francesco Romero, participants worked on a negotiation scenario concerning a real estate project. They were divided into multidisciplinary teams to draft a comprehensive contract. The focus was on legal, engineering, and financial aspects, providing participants with the opportunity to simulate real-world professional challenges. 

Lunch Break (12:00 – 1:00): Participants enjoyed a lunch session with informal discussions, exchanging ideas on the workshop and its practical applications. 

Continuation of Training Sessions (1:00 – 3:00): The workshop continued with practical exercises focused on negotiating contract terms, with an emphasis on: 

  • Technical Aspects: To ensure engineering feasibility. 
  • Budget Management and Financial Aspects. 
  • Sustainability and Environmental Protection Requirements. 

Professors Andrea and Francesco provided immediate feedback to improve team performance, enhancing participants’ understanding of the role each discipline plays in negotiations.

End of Day One: The day concluded with a thank-you note to participants and supervisors, along with an announcement of the second day’s schedule, which will feature deeper applications of negotiation techniques in practical scenarios.
