In a significant step toward promoting global dialogue on sustainability and innovation, Gulf University announced that the First International Conference on Sustainable Development and Innovation (ICSDI 2025) will take place at The Art Hotel, Kingdom of Bahrain, from November 16–17, 2025, featuring both on-site and virtual participation opportunities. 

The conference will take place following the second edition of Gulf University Sustainability Week (GUSW2025), reaffirming the university’s commitment to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a key pillar of its institutional strategy (2022–2027). It will bring together academic and professional experts from government, industry, and specialized sectors 

The conference will focus on key themes, including poverty eradication, health and well-being, water and sanitation, clean energy, economic growth, industrial innovation, food security, and climate change adaptation, in addition to enhancing global partnerships to support innovation. 

In this context, Gulf University has opened the call for research paper submissions for participation in the conference. The university confirmed that all accepted papers will be published by Springer Nature, a leading global publisher indexed in Scopus. The top research papers will be selected for publication in Q1-ranked scientific journals, such as Sustainability, further enhancing international visibility and ensuring a meaningful impact within the scientific community 

On this occasion, Prof. Muhannad Al Faris, President of Gulf University, stated:
