Gulf University Concludes “Russian Cultural Days” Activities
Yegorshchenkova: Gulf University Presented an Inspiring Model of Cultural Cooperation
Gulf University concluded the “Russian Cultural Days” event organized by the university’s Language Center over three days at its campus in Sanad. The event saw wide academic and cultural participation from representatives of Russian and Bahraini institutions, as well as a large number of students and faculty members.
Held as part of the “My History” initiative, the event featured a series of interactive activities and exhibitions that highlighted Russian art, language, and heritage, within the framework of the academic and cultural cooperation agreement between Gulf University and Chechen State Pedagogical University.
Professor Mohanad Al-Firas, President of Gulf University, affirmed that the event reflected the university’s vision of making culture and education partners in fostering mutual understanding among peoples.
Al-Firas stated, “The success of the Russian Cultural Days reflects Gulf University’s commitment to enhancing civilizational understanding and openness to global cultures. This initiative served as an educational gateway that allowed students to directly engage with the Russian language and its rich culture, showcasing the university’s role as a regional hub for academic and cultural dialogue.”
He added that Gulf University continues to expand its international collaboration with Russian universities and educational institutions around the world, noting that such
initiatives help prepare students with global skills and the ability to communicate across languages and cultures.
He concluded, “We believe that education goes beyond academic knowledge; it encompasses mutual human understanding — something that was truly achieved through this event, which brought Bahrain and Russia together in a shared space of cultural and creative dialogue.”
For her part, Anna Yegorshchenkova, Head of International Relations, Board Member of the Bahraini–Russian Friendship Society, and Leader of the Russian-speaking Community “Compatriots,” stated that the event reflected the depth of cultural relations between the Bahraini and Russian peoples. She praised Gulf University’s role in hosting such an event that strengthens bridges of communication between the two cultures.
She added, “The Russian-speaking community in Bahrain and the Bahraini–Russian Friendship Society play a vital role in the Kingdom’s cultural and social life. We work to preserve the Russian language and cultural traditions, support community members, and enhance mutual understanding between Bahraini and Russian cultures.”
Yegorshchenkova also pointed out that the Russian community in Bahrain is keen to organize cultural festivals, exhibitions, and educational lectures that unite people of various nationalities through creativity, culture, and friendship among nations. She emphasized that “Gulf University presented an inspiring model of cultural cooperation through this event, which beautifully combined knowledge and humanity.”
By concluding the “Russian Cultural Days,” Gulf University has reinforced its position as an academic and cultural platform that fosters intercultural dialogue and supports international cooperation in education and scientific research, in line with its vision of openness to the world and strengthening academic and cultural relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and friendly nations.
