October 24, 2024 :The Torch of Love and Peace Association, in collaboration with Gulf University and its Community Engagement Center, organized a celebration for the International Day of Peace under the theme “Planting a Culture of Peace”. This event was part of Gulf University’s Sustainability Week and aligned with the annual International Day of Peace, observed on September 21.
The President of the Torch of Love and Peace Association, Mr. Attiyatullah Rouhani, emphasized the importance of promoting peace, especially among younger generations, to foster environments rooted in harmony and mutual respect. He lauded Bahrain’s leadership under His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for their dedication to religious tolerance and cultural coexistence as cornerstones of the Kingdom’s progress.
Prof. Muhannad Al-Mashhadani, President of Gulf University, expressed gratitude for Bahrain’s vision of peace and coexistence, highlighting the role of educational institutions in spreading these values. The celebration focused on community partnerships and emphasized peace as a pathway to sustainable development, social cohesion, and innovation.
The event underscored the critical role of awareness and education in nurturing responsible citizenship and mutual respect, building foundations for a stable and peaceful society.
