In a step that reflects Gulf University’s commitment to fostering collaboration between academic and media institutions, the university signed a cooperation agreement today with Al Ayam Newspaper at the university campus, in the presence of a number of academics and media professionals.
The agreement aims to enhance cooperation in the fields of media training, knowledge exchange, and the implementation of joint projects in media research and studies. It also includes organizing events and training programs designed to develop students’ skills and enrich the Bahraini media landscape.
During the signing ceremony, Prof. Mohannad Al Farras, President of Gulf University, expressed his delight with this partnership, stating:
“This agreement aligns with Gulf University’s strategy to connect academic learning with real-world professional practice. It provides our students with valuable training opportunities within leading media institutions in the Kingdom. For his part, Mr. Rashid Al Hamer, Editor-in-Chief of Al Ayam Newspaper, affirmed that this agreement represents a distinguished model of cooperation between higher education institutions and media outlets, adding:
“We welcome this constructive collaboration with Gulf University, which aims to support promising student talents and equip them with the practical skills necessary to enter the media industry with confidence and competence. We strongly believe that education and media are partners in shaping individuals and building the future.”
At the conclusion of the event, both parties expressed their aspiration for this agreement to serve as a launching point for further cooperation in media, scientific research, and community service—enhancing Bahrain’s position as a regional hub for education and media excellence.
