Teaching & Learning Statement
Dr. Jain emphasizes active learning by closely integrating theory with practical applications, enabling students to engage in simulations, design projects, and analytical problem-solving exercises that reflect real-world engineering challenges. Leveraging his research expertise in ergonomics, human factors, biomechanics, and vibrations, he strives to create a learning environment where students can connect fundamental engineering principles to hands-on experiences. His approach not only focuses on the mastery of technical knowledge but also fosters critical thinking, creativity, and innovation, encouraging students to explore alternative solutions and develop their problem-solving abilities. By incorporating research insights, industry exposure, case studies, and hands-on projects, Dr. Jain aims to equip students with the skills and confidence necessary to succeed in both academic and professional settings. Over the years, he has taught a wide range of courses, including Mechanical Vibrations, Kinematics and Dynamics of Machinery, Engineering Mechanics, Computer-Aided Engineering, and Research Methodology, always emphasizing active participation, collaboration, and practical application of knowledge.
Experience
Dr. Jain is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Gulf University, where he teaches, supervises research, and conducts studies in biomechanics, ergonomics, mechanical vibrations, and human factors. Previously, he served as a Lecturer at Innovative Education, UAE, where he was responsible for teaching undergraduate courses, supervising projects, and contributing to academic quality assurance aligned with UK higher education standards. He also worked as an Associate Professor at Malla Reddy College of Engineering, India, teaching advanced courses, supervising research, and supporting accreditation processes.
Earlier, Dr. Jain worked as a Senior and Junior Research Fellow at SSN College of Engineering, India, conducting experimental and numerical studies in ergonomics and vibrations. He began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at KCG College of Technology, India, where he taught core mechanical engineering subjects, supervised student projects, and actively participated in departmental academic activities, laying the foundation for his subsequent academic and research career.
Research Interest
Dr. Jain’s research spans ergonomics, biomechanics, human factors engineering, vibrations, and CAE-based design, with his doctoral work specifically focusing on the influence of handle shape and size in reducing hand-arm vibration discomfort through experimental, analytical, and numerical studies. He has published extensively in SCI and SCOPUS indexed journals on topics such as ergonomic tool design, biodynamic response of the human system, vibration isolation, and composite material analysis. In addition, he has authored books and holds a patent for a Mine Ventilation System using IoT. Dr. Jain also actively contributes to the academic community as a reviewer for several international journals.
