Gulf University Research Council organized a workshop on Strategic Navigation of the Research Funding Landscape: Advanced Grant Acquisition & Competitive Proposal Development, conducted by Dr. Muhammad Syukri, Lecturer at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and moderated by Dr. Mohammed Alshekhly.
The session walked participants through the global research funding ecosystem, covering national, regional, and international funding bodies, eligibility criteria, and the competitive dynamics of major grant calls.
A central focus was placed on building competitive proposals — articulating a clear research problem, demonstrating impact, structuring methodology and budgets convincingly, and aligning the proposal with the priorities of the targeted funder.
