Dr. Omar Bilbech Workshop: Strengthening Industry–Academia Partnerships for Innovation & SDGs Alignment
Gulf University Research Council organized a workshop on Strengthening Industry–Academia Partnerships for Innovation & Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Alignment, conducted by Dr. Omar Bilbech, Assistant Professor at Gulf University.
The workshop examined how universities and industry can collaborate to translate research into measurable innovation while keeping the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals at the centre of joint initiatives. Topics covered included structuring partnership agreements, identifying mutual value, and aligning research output with national development priorities.
Participants discussed practical pathways for embedding SDG outcomes into research design, knowledge transfer, and applied projects — particularly within Bahrain’s Vision 2030 context.
