Mashhadani: “We invite new students to benefit from the distinguished sports grants offered by the Gulf University”
As part of developing the skills of the basketball team and enhancing its capabilities, the Gulf University held an intensive training camp in the Arab Republic of Egypt from 1 to 10 September 2024. The aim of this camp is to equip the team for the upcoming competitions and achieve further achievements on the field. The basketball team has 14 distinguished players under the leadership of Bahraini trainer Karim Al-Anzour, who has extensive experience and international degrees in training national teams.
The President of the Gulf University, Professor Muhannad Al-Mashhadani, emphasized: “We are proud to establish this training camp in Egypt, which is part of our ongoing efforts to support and promote university sports. We seek to provide an integrated environment for our sports games, focusing on the physical and psychological aspects of players, to improve their performance and increase their chances of success at the local and international levels, as well as emphasizing the academic side.”
Mashhadani added: “We look forward to our team benefiting from this camp by improving their individual and collective skills. They will also have the opportunity to play friendly matches with strong teams such as the Egyptian National Club, the Egyptian Island Club and the German University in Cairo, as well as acquire new experiences by learning about the Egyptian Republic culture through field visits to cultural and historical sites and visits to local universities in the Republic of Egypt.
He noted that the Gulf Basketball University team recently won a distinguished victory by winning the final against the American University in the Slaoui League, enhancing our expectations of positive results during this camp.
He explained that the Gulf University continues its commitment to the development of university sports and aspires to achieve more successes and enhance its position in the field of sports. The team is expected to benefit greatly from this training camp by improving their individual and collective skills, playing friendly matches with strong teams, and building cohesion among team members.
In a related context, team coach Karim Al-Azour stated: “We are excited to have this training camp in Egypt, where it will be an important opportunity to develop the skills of the players and enhance the spirit of the team. Through this period, we aim to raise the level of artistic and physical performance in preparation for the upcoming competitions. I am confident that the effort we will make in this camp will greatly contribute to further success for the Gulf University.
It is worth mentioning that the University has institutional accreditation, and all its programmes are certified by the Education Quality and Training Authority, IET Associate Membership Certificate from the Engineering and Technology Foundation of the United Kingdom “The Institution of Engineering and Technology”, and the Association. (ASJMC), and vocational international accreditation from the Royal British Institute of Public Relations CIPR was the first academic program in the Middle East to receive accreditation. The university also obtained AASCB international membership and accreditation from the British Association of Chartered Accountants.
