

Gulf University recently organized an orientation workshop for its academic and administrative faculty, presented by University President Prof. Mohanad Al-Firas under the theme “From Compliance to Creativity”. The event was held as part of the university’s ongoing preparations and strategic directions for the new academic year.
The workshop focused on the importance of transforming regulatory compliance into a sustainable culture driven by creativity, innovation, and tangible academic impact. It also highlighted the university’s strategic plan, organizational structure, and upcoming institutional directions aimed at further strengthening the university’s academic and strategic standing.
Reflecting on the philosophy behind the workshop, Prof. Al-Firas stated:
Compliance with standards represents the foundational baseline of academic work, while creativity serves as the true engine for transformation and development. During this workshop, we were keen to introduce a fresh, innovative presentation style specifically designed for the university, making our orientation sessions more interactive, vibrant, and closely aligned with our institutional identity.
He added:
Through these initiatives, we strive to empower our academic staff to transform challenges and regulations into creative opportunities that enrich our students’ educational experience and contribute to an innovative, sustainable, and impactful learning environment.
The workshop also presented Gulf University’s future vision and highlighted the importance of aligning academic priorities, institutional objectives and the University’s identity. Faculty and administrative staff actively engaged in the discussions, reinforcing a shared commitment to moving beyond compliance towards creativity, innovation and meaningful impact.
