Gulf University has once again demonstrated its commitment to educational innovation and cutting-edge technology, securing the Best Scientific Research Award at the inaugural “JUTHOOR: Artificial Intelligence and the New Generation” Summit. The prestigious event, held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Center – Sakhir, convened a distinguished assembly of local and international experts and academics.
The event brought together a distinguished group of experts and academics from Bahrain and abroad.
Ms. Bara’a Al-Samarai, Head of the Admission and Registration Department at Gulf University, was honored with the prestigious award for her research paper titled “The Use of Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence in the Education Sector.” Her research explored mechanisms for integrating emerging technologies into the development of admission and registration systems, achieving standards of transparency and security, and providing intelligent solutions to support institutional decision-making.
The paper was widely praised by the judging panel and attendees for its innovative practical vision and potential applicability in higher education environments. It was considered an advanced model aligned with Bahrain’s digital transformation goals.
Commenting on this achievement, Ms. Al-Samarai expressed her pride in winning the award, emphasizing that it represents a culmination of Gulf University’s ongoing efforts to support scientific research and foster technological innovation. She noted that the research builds on the university’s strategic direction to adopt AI and blockchain technologies in serving students and improving academic performance efficiency.
The JUTHOOR Summit is recognized as a specialized regional platform focused on digital innovation and future foresight. It aims to promote Arab dialogue on artificial intelligence and guide youth toward responsible and effective use of advanced technologies. During the summit, it was announced that the next edition will be held in Washington, D.C., in collaboration with leading global tech companies and renowned international universities.
