Job Summary:
Gulf University is seeking a creative and skilled Photographer & Videographer to produce high-quality visual content that supports the university’s communications, marketing, and storytelling initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for capturing and editing photos and videos for events, promotional materials, student and faculty profiles, academic programs, and campus life. This role plays a key part in enhancing the university’s brand identity and digital presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capture professional photos and videos of university events, student life, faculty, and campus facilities.
- Plan, shoot, and edit video content for promotional campaigns, academic programs, social media, and web platforms.
- Coordinate with departments (admissions, alumni, marketing, academic faculties) to develop multimedia content.
- Create content that aligns with the university’s branding and communication goals.
- Edit and produce videos including interviews, b-roll, voiceovers, and motion graphics as needed.
- Manage and organize a digital asset library for easy access to photo and video content.
- Assist with livestreaming events such as convocations, guest lectures, and conferences.
- Operate and maintain video, audio, and lighting equipment.
- Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies in multimedia production.
- Ensure all content adheres to accessibility standards and university guidelines.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a photographer and videographer, preferably in an academic or institutional setting.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in both photography and videography.
- Proficiency with editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Photoshop, and/or Final Cut Pro.
- Strong storytelling, visual composition, and technical skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multiple departments.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Availability to work evenings or weekends for special events, if needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Film, Media Production, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience in higher education or nonprofit environments.
- Familiarity with content requirements for social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, YouTube, TikTok).
- Knowledge of livestreaming and audio/video production setups.
Work Conditions:
- May involve occasional travel between university campuses.
- Ability to carry and set up camera and lighting equipment.
- Flexible work hours based on shoot schedules and events.
